Ho’oponopono and EFT to Help Your Loved Ones

In this video, I explain how to apply Ho’oponopono, an ancient Hawaiian healing practice, to help those near and dear to you. When our loved ones face challenges, we often feel the urge to fix things for them. This can lead us to a place of worry and fear, and we may even unintentionally project our worst fears onto them. Sometimes, the struggles we imagine may not even be real. Through Ho’oponopono, we can find peace within ourselves and project love and encouragement instead of fear and worry.

If you’re new to Ho’oponopono, it’s a practice of transmutation. In moments when we feel triggered, it’s often because old data or memories are replaying within us. These triggers aren’t about the current reality but unresolved emotions that must be released. If we don’t address and release these emotions, we may inadvertently project them onto those closest to us—our children, spouses, or even pets.

Cleaning up this “data” allows us to stop projecting and move toward peace. When we reach a state of peace, we can shine our light and support those we care about in a way that genuinely helps.

I also like to combine Ho’oponopono with Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) or tapping. I’ll guide you through a round of tapping with Ho’oponopono to help you address any worries or fears about someone you love.

Tapping with Ho’oponopono

  1. Bring the Person to Mind. Think of the person you are concerned about. Maybe they are facing a difficult time, suffering, or dealing with a problem. Instead of fixing or controlling their situation, focus on finding peace within yourself.
  2. Tap on the Collarbone. While tapping on your collarbone, call this person to mind. Allow yourself to feel the emotions that arise—worry, fear, stress, or other feelings. Notice your thoughts about their situation. What do you believe they are going through? What do you want to protect them from?
  3. Acknowledge the Memories. Recognize that these feelings and beliefs stem from your memories or “data” being replayed. This is what needs to be cleaned and transmuted. It’s not about fixing the external situation but addressing what is within you.
  4. Tapping and Releasing. As you tap, breathe deeply and let go of the arising emotions. Acknowledge any biases or limited thinking you may have about their situation. Ask the Divine Creator to cleanse and purify these memories.
  5. Recite the Four Phrases
    • While tapping, repeat these four phrases of Ho’oponopono:
      • Thank you.
      • I love you.
      • I’m sorry.
      • Please forgive me.
    • Say these phrases with sincerity, addressing the memories and emotions within you:
      • “Thank you for the opportunity to heal and cleanse this data.”
      • “I love you, and I’m sorry for whatever in me is projecting and creating this problem.”
  6. Visualize the Person. Keep the person in mind and reflect on what comes up for you. Notice your fears and worries. This is the “dross” that needs cleansing. As you continue tapping and repeating the phrases, release these fears and return to peace.
  7. Connect to Peace. As you surrender these memories, let go of their hold on your heart. Allow the Divine Creator to cleanse them. When you return to inner peace, you align with your true nature. You can send love and light to your loved ones from this place without projecting worry or fear.

Closing Practice

Take a deep breath and bring your hands to your heart. Say the word “peace” aloud. Feel the peace of your true self, the divine peace, flowing through you. Breathe deeply and allow this peace to fill every cell in your body. Then, send this vibration of peace and love to your loved one or anyone you wish to support.

Repeat this practice as often as needed. If fears or worries resurface, return to the four phrases and continue tapping. The more we cultivate peace within ourselves, the more we can support others meaningfully and effectively.

Thank you for taking this time to nurture your inner peace. Keep taking good care of yourself. Peace begins with you and me; as we radiate peace, we can bring healing.

Much love,
Maria
